How Many Balls And How Many Cards

Before you start playing an online bingo game you will need to decide on how many bingo balls are going to be in your game and then how many bingo cards you're going to buy.

Usually you will have a choice between 75 balls or 90. Some bingo sites also offer an 80 ball game. Each of these games is slightly different although the main principal of each is the same. If you want a complete breakdown on how these games work, I recommend reading the following pages: 90 Ball Bingo, 80 Ball Bingo and 75 Ball Bingo

When you first log in to a bingo site you will see all the different games that are going on. For each game you will be shown information such as how may balls there are, how many players there are and the prize money.

You want to play in a game that has a reasonable amount of players and a reasonable amount of prize money. At the same time you need to be realistic about what prize money you can expect.

With a game where cards are just 1p each the prize money will only be a couple of pounds. In a game where cards are 10p you can expect a full house to be worth around £20 which is very good.

You generally find that the prize money for the 90 ball games is higher because it attracts more players than the other games. Each time you log in to a bingo site you should do so with an open mind and play whichever game looks more appealing.

You need to find one that has the right blend of players against the prize on offer and that best suits your budget. In short, the more people that are playing, the more the prize money will be. At the same time, the more bingo cards you buy the bigger your chance of winning (remember that this will cost you more money per game.)

Now I will discuss the different approaches you can take when you log in. For more detailed descriptions, tips and ideas take a look at the bingo systems page. For the examples below I will assume you're playing a 10p per ticket game.

If your game has 30 or more players you will find that the prize money is rather high. While it depends on how many tickets people are buying, you can expect prize money of between £20 and £30 for a full house, £7 for two lines and £3.50 for one line.

Now if you just buy one ticket per game your chances of winning are rather small. However you would only need one win every hundred games or so to see yourself winning more money than you're spending.

If you go for the appraoch of buying the maximum amount of 48 cards per game you give yourself a much better chance of winning although you should be aware that it soon becomes costly.

This approach would cost £4.80 per game so you will want to get a win every few games to stay ahead. It would also be naive to assume that you're the only person buying as many tickets as possible because it's an approach that a lot of people take.

Card Price

The most common prices per card are 5p and 10p. Some sites will go to as much as £1 a card but experience has shown me that these games are less popular because people prefer the cheaper games.

As you can see from the examples above, the prize money is very good when you play a 10p game and I think that a card price of 10p is the right balance between money you have to spend and money you can potentially win.

With all things considered it comes down to personal preference and your budget when deciding how many cards you will buy.
