How To Play Online Bingo
Newcomers to the online bingo scene can often wonder how it all works. After all, when you play bingo in a brick
and mortar bingo hall, someone calls out the numbers and then you mark that number on your card with your big
thick felt tip pen. If you win you then shout bingo, it's very simple.
Online bingo can be a bit daunting at first when you're looking in from the outside but it's so easy anyone
could do it, regardless of age or experience level.
Firstly you need to decided how many bingo balls there will be in your game, which will usually be a choice
between either 75 or 90. Then you will need buy your bingo cards which is usually a choice between just one card or
as many as 48. You can learn more about this by reading the page about Bingo Balls
And Cards.
Once you've done this you then just sit and wait for the game to start. If you play at any of the bingo sites I
recommend on the online bingo home page your wait should be
no longer than a minute or so because they have thousands of players and new games are starting all the time.
Also, you will notice a chat window on your screen. This is where you can talk to other people that are involved
in your game. You can learn more about the chat window and the way that people speak in it by reading the
Bingo Chat page.
Once the game starts you don't really do anything other than wait to see the conclusion of the game.
The numbers will be announced and then they will automatically be marked on your cards, you don't need to do
anything. Your cards that are closest to winning will always be at the top so that you can see which numbers you
need to win.
When you only have 3 numbers to go before winning you will see the abbreviation "3tg" under your card which
obviously means you have 3 numbers to go before winning. Then it becomes "2tg" when you only have 2 numbers to go
and finally "1tg." If you win the game will then temporarily stop while your win is announced and then the game
will continue.

To the left you can see a screen shot I've taken from a game I played at Cheeky Bingo.
This was a game where I won for two lines. As you can see the bingo card on the top left says "win" underneath
because the number 66 has just come out and that was the final number I needed for two lines.
You can see that the card below has "2tg" underneath it because only two more numbers were needed for two
lines.
The rest of the cards had three numbers to go so they had "3tg" underneath. Another thing that I should point
out is that for this particular game I had 48 cards, the twelve cards that you can see in the picture are the
ones that were closest to winning. If you want to see the full size picture just click on the image and it will
open a new window with the full size image.
Different Ways To Win
Different variations of bingo have different ways to win. Read the following pages for a complete breakdown:
90 Ball Bingo, 80 Ball Bingo, 75 Ball Bingo.
Using the above screen shot as an example, that's a 90 ball game and there are three different ways to win which
are: one line, two lines and the full house. As you can see from the screen shot, the prize money for that
particular game was:
1 line = £3.71
2 lines = £5.71
Full house = £15.47
The prize money for each game is different because it is dependant on how many people are playing and the price
of the cards. The game above was a 10p per card game.
As players buy tickets, all the money goes into one pot and the prize money comes back out and goes to
the winners. Obviously the bingo site takes a small commission from each game and this is how they make money.
Due to the fact that prize money is dictated by the number of players, it's important to play at a popular bingo
room that has lots of players.
